A bombshell revelation: Netanyahu exchanged letters with Sinwar and had secret contacts with Hamas since 2014
Former Israeli Defense Minister and leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, Avigdor Lieberman, leveled new accusations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, revealing secret contacts between him and Hamas during the 2014 Gaza war.
Lieberman stated that Netanyahu conducted communications with Hamas behind the backs of Israeli security and military leaders, indicating that the prime minister exchanged letters with Yahya Sinwar. He asserted that these actions make Netanyahu a “danger to Israel’s security.”
Lieberman also accused Netanyahu of being behind the transfer of funds to the Gaza Strip and, according to him, providing protection to Hamas leaders. He called for the formation of an official commission of inquiry to uncover the details of the communications and policies pursued by Netanyahu’s governments toward the movement.
Lieberman’s remarks coincided with reports in the Israeli media about direct contacts that took place during the 2014 war between officials close to Netanyahu and a Hamas leader, bypassing the traditional Egyptian or Qatari mediation channels.
