The General Union of Palestinian Journalists in the uk organized an event on Saturday to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, in cooperation with the British Communities Alliance with Palestine. The event included a discussion of a proposal to persuade the British government to bring Palestinian families and wounded individuals to Britain under the British Communities’ sponsorship program for Palestinian families. The event took place within the framework of a forum attended by a number of activists, journalists, academics, and community figures, with the aim of discussing ways to strengthen popular and official solidarity with the Palestinian cause and to propose practical initiatives to contribute to alleviating the suffering of civilians. During the event, Dr. Ibrahim Farid Assalia, chairman of the General Union of Palestinian Journalists in the uk, emphasized the necessity of discussing a comprehensive proposal aimed at persuading the British government to launch a special humanitarian program. This program would rely on hosting affected Palestinian families and bringing wounded individuals from Gaza to receive treatment and care under the umbrella of the British Communities’ sponsorship program for Palestinian families. This proposal comes amidst the growing need for international support programs that contribute to protecting civilians and ensuring that the wounded receive the necessary medical care. In his address, Abdul Salam Aqel, Secretary-General of the Union, emphasized that the initiative has a purely humanitarian dimension and requires organized efforts from civil and human rights organizations to engage with British government bodies. He stressed that genuine solidarity must be reflected in concrete, practical steps, not just symbolic events.Ibrahim Khadra, Deputy Secretary-General of the Union, called for activating the role of Arab communities in Britain to exert positive pressure in support of Palestinian rights and to cooperate with humanitarian organizations to provide medical treatment and temporary accommodation for affected families. He also emphasized the need to enhance media coverage that reveals the extent of daily suffering within the occupied territories. Informed sources within the General Union of Palestinian Journalists in uk indicated today that a senior judge in the British supreme Court has ordered the court and the British Home Office to hold a hearing to deliver a ruling on the issue of reuniting Palestinian families from Gaza with their first-degree relatives in Britain. The hearing will be held on November 5, 2025, a date set by the judge after the British Home Office requested several postponements. This positive development comes after considerable pressure from British parliamentarians and local community organizations in uk, in addition to efforts by the Gaza Family Reunion Scheme. In a press interview, Dr. Ibrahim Assalia, one of the founders of this scheme, stated that this decision reflects the strength and justice of the Palestinian cause and the extent of public sympathy for it, especially among the British people. Assalia also emphasized the integrity of the British judiciary. Dr Assalia added that if the court decides in the affirmative, it will become easier to bring our families and first-degree relatives to the uk without the uk Home Office having to refuse, and this will be a precedent that is the first of its kind in the history of the uk. In another press interview, Vicky Moller head of a british organization called : CWTCH PAL based in wales said: The hearing in the supreme court will put to the test the consistency and humanity of UK policies. There is no country on earth more abused and destroyed than Gaza with all Palestinians situation moving rapidly in the same direction. Our collaboration of organisations, Communities for Palestinians seeks to welcome our friends, colleagues and relatives from Gaza into the towns and villages wanting to welcome them. We have 659 people from 93 villages and towns across the UK who have signed to support our scheme We will help palestinian family reunion scheme in whatever way we can. We bring the compassion and enthusiasm of British people everywhere and our professional community sponsorship skills to ensure successful recovery and integration. Should the UK government feel they cannot put money into this scheme, we will find the resources we need. British people are desperate to help in practical ways. رجحت مصادر مطلعه للاتحاد العام للصحفيين الفلسطينين في بريطانيا اليوم بان قاضي كبير في المحكمه العليا في بريطانيا الزم المحكمه ووزاره الداخليه البريطانيه بعقد جلسه للنطق بالحكم في موضوع لم شمل العائلات الفلسطينيه من غزه واقاربهم من الدرجه الاولي في بريطانيا. ستعقد الجلسه في 5 نوفمبر 2025 القادم وهذا الموعد تم تحديده من قبل القاضي بعد ان طالبت وزاره الداخليه البريطانيه تاجيل جلسه الاستماع عده مرات. ياتي هذا التطور الايجابي بعد عده ضعوط من قبل برلمانيين بريطانيين وموسسات المجتمع المحلي في بريطانيا بالاضافه الي جهود من تجمع Gaza Family reunion scheme . في مقابله صحفيه صرح الدكتور ابراهيم عسليه وهو من موسسي هذا التجمع بان هذا القرار يعبر عن قوه وعداله قضيتنا الفلسطينيه ومدي تعاطف الشعوب معها وخاصه الشعب البريطاني . كما اكد عسليه ان هذا يدل علي نزاهه القضاء البريطاني. اكمل عسليه قائلا انه اذا قررت المحكمه ايجابا فانه سيصبح من السهوله جلب عائلاتنا واقاربنا من الدرجه الاولي الي بريطانيا دون ان تضطر وزاره الداخليه البريطانيه الي الرفض وستكون هذه سابقه هي الاولي من نوعها في تاريخ بريطانيا . في مقابله اخري صرحت فيكي مولر رئيس منظمه CWTCH PAL البريطانيه وهي منظمة مجتمعية انسانيه مقرها ويلز، تعمل على مساعدة الأطفال الفلسطينيين الجرحى على القدوم إلى المملكة المتحدة وكفالتهم. ، قالت إن جلسة الاستماع في المحكمة العليا ستختبر اتساق وإنسانية سياسات المملكة المتحدة. لا يوجد بلد على وجه الأرض أكثر تعرضًا للانتهاك والدمار من غزة، حيث يتجه وضع جميع الفلسطينيين بسرعة في نفس الاتجاه. واضافت مولر انها تتراس تحالف مع عده منظمات “مجتمعيه من أجل الفلسطينيين” وقد ابدي الجميع استعدادهم الترحيب بأصدقائنا وزملائنا وأقاربنا من غزة في المدن والقرى التي ترغب في الترحيب بهم. لدينا 659 شخصًا من 93 قرية وبلدة في جميع أنحاء المملكة المتحدة وقّعوا لدعم برنامجنا. سندعم برنامج لم شمل العائلات بكل الطرق الممكنة. نجمع تعاطف وحماسه الشعب البريطاني في كل مكان مع الشعب الفلسطيني ونوظف مهاراتنا المهنية في رعاية المجتمع لضمان التعافي والاندماج الناجحين. كما اضافت انه إذا شعرت الحكومه البريطانيه بعدم قدرتها على تمويل هذا البرنامج، فسنوفر الموارد التي نحتاجها. الشعب البريطاني متلهف للمساعدة بطرق عملية. تُصرف مبالغ طائلة من المال يوميًا لدعم الأصدقاء الفلسطينيين. يُفضّل إنفاق الكثير من هذه الأموال هنا في المملكة المتحدة. ‏التاريخ 29-10-2025
