Important Clarification for Students of the University of Palestine in Gaza and Abroad
Following communication between the General Union of Palestinian Journalists in Britain and official bodies at the University of Palestine in Gaza, we would like to clarify the following:
The University of Palestine confirms that the statement circulating and attributed to it, dated June 5, 2026, regarding the closure of some academic programs, particularly the Faculty of Dentistry, is incorrect and was not issued by any authorized official body within the university.
The university clarifies that it continues to provide its educational and academic services to its students despite the exceptional circumstances and difficult economic challenges facing the Gaza Strip, and out of its commitment to the continuity of the educational process and to ensuring that students’ academic futures are not affected.
In this context, the university has recruited and employed a number of faculty members from within and outside the Gaza Strip, with the aim of strengthening the academic staff and meeting teaching needs in various disciplines, thus ensuring the continuation of the educational process according to the highest possible standards.
The University of Palestine reiterates its commitment to its students, affirming that it will continue to fulfill its educational and national mission and will remain supportive of its students and committed to protecting their right to education despite all current challenges and circumstances.
